Meet the Craftsman

Born in 1974 in the small town of Mount Holly, North Carolina, Jason Hartness grew up in a family surrounded by the artistic flair of nature and engineering design on a daily basis. As a young boy, Jason was fortunate to see his mother draw and paint some of the most detailed art works of that time. As Jason’s artistic abilities materialized, he was also engaged in the field of mechanical engineering through his father, as Jason will tell you, “the smartest man he knows.”

Since 1996 as an artist and master craftsman, Jason has mastered the art of metal creations, specializing in depicting nature and wildlife scenes along with unique custom designs for almost any application. His education in mechanical engineering—and the unique ability to visualize, prior to fabrication—has enabled him to develop and utilize tools and heating methods to create spectacular designs, shapes, and amazing colors in his art work.

His custom work can be found in many stores across the US, and have been sold to customers in countries such as Australia, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom and Canada. Quite often Jason is commissioned to design and make special logos, signs, railing and unique lighting for commercial accounts across the country. Since Jason has always had the highest respect for our US Military personnel and North Carolina Forestry Association, he has developed a relationship over the years making special custom retirement gifts to recognize these amazing men and women.

Jason’s life philosophy has spilled over into his artwork.  As you can see, his attention to detail—and the drive to be the best he can be at all he does—has made a large impact on what he offers in his line of products.

If you ask Jason what he wants to accomplish with his art he will say, “I want to make something better than anyone for everyone”.

Currently, Jason works in his well-equipped facility located in Lincolnton, North Carolina, and lives nearby in the small town of Iron Station.

He now builds custom hand made hunting knives, as that has been one of his passions since he was a child.
